Just want to acknowledge Jeff at the shop for all his info. We've been canoers and were looking into kayaks. Jeff explained the differences between the kayaks (uses, materials, prices). Unfortunately for him we've decided to just rent for the day wherever we are instead of buying, but Lake George Kayak rents out too so I guess it evens out.

Best Buying Lake George Just a short drive or trolley trip from the Quarters, you can stroll down Canada Street in Lake George and explore the many diverse shops there. You can find everything from souvenir t-shirts to dancing hula girl statues to fine porcelain collectibles, jewelry, and everything in between. There are sundries and clothing stores for those items that somehow failed to make it into your suitcase, and lots of fun shops filled with riotous colors and lively souvenirs.
