How to reach Klagenfurt
By rail:
Since Klagenfurt is positioned at a railway gateway to Italy, Slovenia and Germany, it can be easily reached by any bigger Austrian city. There are hourly connections to Vienna,Graz and neighbouring Villach.
By Road:
Klagenfurt has daily associations to Graz (departing close to the main train station) and to Ljubljana in Slovenia. Tickets can be bought directly on the bus. Klagenfurt is located at the A2 motorway and has three exits (Klagenfurt-West, Klagenfurt-Ost and Klagenfurt Airport). Therefor it can be easily reached by Graz, Vienna and Villach. The B91 connects Klagenfurt to Slovenia.
By Air:
Klagenfurt has its own international airport Flughafen Klagenfurt.
Scheduled flights activate to Klagenfurt from London, Berlin-Tegel, Köln - Bonn, Frankfurt-Main, Hamburg, Hannover, Dusseldorf and Vienna.
Other nearby Airports include Graz, Salzburg, Vienna, Ljubljana, Maribor, Trieste and Venice.
There are good train connections (3-5 hours) to all airports above apart from Ljubljana and Maribor. A private shuttle bus serves Ljubljana and Graz airports from Klagenfurt , but it must be booked in advance.
Best Buying Klagenfurt 
The centre of the city (around Alter Platz) offers a large variety of boutiques, book shops and perfumeries. Big shopping malls are located in Völkermarkterstrasse.

Near Airport
Location: 4 km/2½ miles N of the City.
By Taxi: To the city centre ~€10/10-15 mins.
By Bus: ◊Buses function every 30 mins 0600-2300, between the airport and the bus fatal on the Heiligengeistplatz in the centre of the city. Cost €2.50 (under 15, €1), takes 15 mins. ◊Alternatively for €2.50, take the usual bus#45 which runs every 30 mins 0600-2300. Takes 5 mins or walk (10 mins) to Annabichl and change to bus#40 (run every 15 mins, and takes 15 mins). Buses #41, 42 & 46 are also believed to serve the airport.
By Shuttle Van: ∆24/7 Transfer Service offer a van service from the airport to a variety of places in Slovenia, including Ljubljana city, Bled, & Portorož/Slovenian coast resorts. Tel +386 (0)41 291 800.
By Train: Trains runs to the city centre every hour for ~€42/10 mins.
Near Railway Station
The neighboring railway station is Klagenfurt Hauptbahnhof (main station) in a distance of about 2 km.
