Although, Goa is the smallest state in India, Goa is a major tourist center. With tourism as its main business, Goa sees approximately 12 percent of India’s visitors. Goa is said to be a friendly Indian state, with influences of Portuguese colonialism, Roman Catholicism, Hinduism and Islam. Goa is known around the world for its foreign beaches and convincing palm trees. Accommodations in Goa range from cheap but comfortable to luxurious and pricey.

Step 1: Replace some dollars for Indian rupees.

Step 2: The official language of Goa is Konkani. However, Marathi, Portuguese and English are also spoken.

Step 3: Goa offers visitors fairly stable warm weather, ranging from 77 to 86 degrees F, from October through February. The monsoon period extends from June until late September and brings very heavy rain.

Step 4: Know that you’ll need a visa and a passport to enter Goa, India. The passport must be valid for at least six months.
